About Grass Tiger
At Grass Tiger, we take great pride in the work we do. It’s the space that you live in, so we work our hardest to make it reflect the people you are and how you live.
As dedicated landscape and grounds maintenance professionals, our team are very aware that the desire for high-quality and well-planned outside spaces has never been greater. From public parks to private gardens, elegant, inspiring and safe places provide a positive and lasting benefit to our quality of life.
No matter how large or small the project, our approach is a holistic one. From the outset, we come with a fresh vision, taking a broad view to assess the context and challenges, looking for local inspiration, devising a strategic, sustainable approach and proposing creative solutions. At all times we are mindful of the financial and emotional investment from our clients.
Our company offers individual attention from highly experienced professionals and a comprehensive range of skills that will cater for projects from the smallest garden to the largest and most complex of schemes.
Our philosophy at Grass Tiger Landscapes is simple; whether we are working on large-scale commercial projects or small residential gardens, whether landscaping, garden maintenance or design, the most important thing to us is client satisfaction. This can only be achieved by open and honest communication between ourselves and you, the client. We will go above and beyond to make any project we work on meet your expectations.
As a child growing up In New Zealand we always had a large garden and veggie patch where I spent a lot of time helping my parents tending the garden. That’s where my love of gardening began.
Since starting gardening in the UK I have been lucky enough to work on many prestigious contracts including Windsor Castle (propagating plants), several Ascott estates, running a team on one project and acting as Head gardener on another. I managed a team of gardeners on the Wetlands Olympics 2012, preparing and maintaining the site for and through to the Olympics and Paralympics. I have also run the garden maintenance department of a large landscaping company.
My biggest passion and the thing that gives me the most enjoyment is getting my hands dirty in the garden.
I like the interaction with clients and staff to get our gardens to the highest possible standard. It’s important to me to exceed client expectations.
I have spent all my life working outside and growing plants has always been an interest to me. From my earliest memories growing up on a Sussex farm, to this present day, the simple process of putting a seed into the ground, adding some water and watching it grow still has a sense of magic about it that gives me sheer delight.
I learnt a lot of things on the farm and got to know how nature and the land work together. This first-hand knowledge has given me a grounding I feel privileged to have and has enabled me to go on to have a more in depth understanding of the skills I have acquired throughout my life in agriculture and horticulture, such as soil structure, specialist pruning, grass varieties and lawn care, fertiliser and spray application, drainage systems, sports and amenity construction and care, plant husbandry, planting and feeding.
I have travelled the country extensively and have experienced just about all kinds of ground and conditions from managing large scale market gardening in Kent, building high specification sports pitches in the Midlands to tending private gardens in Surrey. I can truly say, I love what I do.
